Fuel Positivity: Look Forward to Healthy Meals!

Fuel Positivity: Look Forward to Healthy Meals!

Looking forward to doing something you enjoy is exciting, and sometimes it’s half the fun! There are the big ones, like a holiday or getaway you booked way back, or a day trip somewhere new. Or perhaps a friend is coming to visit, and you’re going out to blow the froth off a couple—these are exciting times!

However, the day-to-day reality of living on planet Earth isn’t always exciting, and there might not be an exciting holiday on the horizon to keep you going. Here at Fast Foodie, we believe that looking forward to and enjoying small moments is good for the soul and positively impacts your mental health.

Looking forward to something that is healthy for you supercharges your self-esteem and your health! It may seem like a small step, but having a delicious lunch or epic smoothie to look forward to can really be a positive bridge throughout your day. It doesn’t take much to give you a little positive boost, like part two of the classic Evergreen smoothie as an afternoon snack!

Thanking your past self for making that smoothie is a great way to encourage you to help ‘future you’ too! Forward planning is a very powerful trait to have, and directly affects how successful you are. Here are some ideas for action you can take to keep that fire burning!

  • Double Up on Smoothies: Make a double smoothie in the morning, have one portion at breakfast, and put the rest in a jar to enjoy in the afternoon.
  • Prep Your Breakfast: Pre-make some breakfast Bircher and keep your toppings on hand. You’ll sleep well knowing there’s a delish brekkie waiting for you in the morning!
  • Lunches!: A tried-and-tested pre-made lunch is a game changer! Organize your weekday lunches ahead of time, and you’re on top of your game!
  • Lock it in, Eddie!: Make a plan for a few days in advance. If it’s with friends, keep in touch in the interim—fun times await!

You may already do this, especially if your work doesn’t have easy lunch options and you are self-sufficient. But if you work in a city, there are plenty of tempting options, usually quite pricey and generally less healthy than what you would prepare yourself.

Looking forward to something, no matter how small, can make a significant difference in your day. Mental health is a serious business these days, and small things like this can really make a difference. By incorporating small, healthy routines into your daily life, you create moments to look forward to and give yourself the gift of positive anticipation. So let’s keep that fire burning and make each day a little brighter with healthy, delicious meals and snacks!
